Overview

SampleCheck is an information management system for quality assurance of laboratory results in DNA parentage testing. To increase the validity of the laboratory results SampleCheck performs plausibility checks on DNA profiles.

Information management

In the database there can be stored allele frequency tables, mutation rates and DNA profiles of, coworkers and positive controls. SampleCheck enables the user to import this information from different file formats to the database.

Search and check tools

SampleCheck can check family relations and calculate the probability of paternity. The core function of SampleCheck is performing plausibility checks on DNA profiles of a whole batch to detect pipetting errors, contaminations with other DNA and if samples have been interchanged. It checks each test in a batch for exclusions and exchanges. Each sample in a batch is checked for double profiles in the batch. At the same time an alignment of the measured profiles and the profiles of coworkers and positive controls takes place. This profile search can be performed during the plausibility analysis. After this quality control is done all customer DNA profiles will be deleted and data privacy is protected.
